Winter and winter sports have a personal touch here. This is a ski area with a difference:

Modern lifts, well-groomed pistes, great parties at alpine huts, manageable ski area with snow guarantee. Children like the gentle slopes and long downhills just like their parents. More demanding skiers can ski from Lawinenstein down to Lopernalm pasture. So, get out of everyday life and into unspoilt nature!

Alpine skiing

A modern 4-seater chairlift with a clutch system leads directly to the Tauplitzalm ski area. A six-seater chairlift, a four-seater chairlift and 20 T-bar lifts make 30 kilometres of slopes accessible. Good skiers too find plenty of downhills that suit their skills. Mogul fields and deep snow pistes are found above the tree line – an excellent experience also for snowboarders. Beginners of skiing and cross-country skiing can enjoy group instruction or private lessons at the ski schools.

Cross-country skiing

Friends of Nordic skiing get their money’s worth, since here is one of the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas of Austria. The 40km-long high-altitude trail (1,600m – 2,000m of altitude) is used as training base by many nations’ teams. Individualists that want to enjoy skiing off the beaten track and without the help of lifts find a paradise for ski mountaineering there.

Winter hiking

Guests that want to enjoy the beautiful winter landscape enjoy a varied programme here. On snowshoes or along the numerous cleared winter hiking trails – one can enjoy long and fantastic hikes through the snow-covered mountains.
